B-hive Innovations is seeking an individual to join the TuberScan team as a Remote sensing specialist. This exciting role would support our R&D projects that are creating novel technologies for use in UK agriculture.  

Duties and responsibilities

• Design and implement strategies for data collection, analysis or display of information

• Analyse data acquired from aircraft, satellites or ground based platforms, using statistical analysis, image analysis software or GIS programs

• Collect supporting data, such as climatic or field survey data to corroborate remote sensing data

• Organise and maintain geospatial data and associated documentation

• Prepare and deliver reports or presentations of geospatial project information

• Conduct research into the application or enhancement of remote sensing technology

• Integrate external geospatial data into project

• Participate in project field trials

• Develop new analytical techniques and automated routines

• Monitor quality of data collection operations to determine if procedural or equipment changes are necessary

• Recommend new hardware or software acquisitions

• Communicate results with external parties including end users

• Create insight reports for end users

• Assist project team with miscellaneous tasks

Qualifications and Skills

Essential:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in geography, remote sensing, environmental science, or similar field.

• Experience in programs such as QGIS/ ArcMap and Python

• Clean UK driving licence

• Excellent communication skills

• Able to work in a fast paced environment and to tight deadlines

Desirable

• Knowledge of agricultural practice and systems

• Drone license

Working hours: generally, Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00

Location: B-hive office, Lincoln. With occasional travel across the UK

Reporting to: TuberScan Project Manager.
